We believe in the power of trust in our dental practice. We want you to feel comfortable to ask any question regarding infection control. We’ll address your questions or concerns openly and straightforward, as we want you to be well-informed regarding how high of a priority infection control is to our team.
We adhere to procedures recommended by various federal agencies, including: the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA). These procedures include the following:
- Sterilization of ALL instruments before every use
- Gloves & face masks
- Disposable materials
- Disinfecting hand soap
- Chemical disinfection of counters & surfaces
- Eye protection for all our patients and clinical staff.
In addition to the aforementioned, we sterilize each and every re-usable device and instrument, including hand pieces used during procedures. We utilize a device that destroys bacteria and viruses through heat, pressure, and steam – called an autoclave. We use a monitoring service that regularly checks that our instruments are sterile. The more you are aware of issues regarding infection control, the better decisions you can make about health care. This is our philosophy and what we practice on a daily basis. We firmly believe the best defense against disease is to be well-informed. Likewise, the more you are aware of our daily policies and procedures, the more confident and comfortable you will be while in our office. We encourage you to ask any questions you have about our policies in our office or over the phone – (707) 800-3556
