Your initial visit is an opportunity for us get to know you and you get to know us. Establishing a good, trusting relationship is important to creating a partnership that has a common goal of achieving excellent long-term dental health. We love to create and maintain happy, positive smiles!
If your first visit is for an emergency, or a specific urgent dental need, we will make every effort to get you in to our office promptly that day and make you comfortable.
Most non-emergency first visits last about an hour for adults, and about a half an hour for children. Dr. Frey will initially chat with you to understand your chief concerns, discuss your prior dental experiences and review your medical and dental histories. He will do a comprehensive examination of the teeth and gums and an oral cancer-screening. Any necessary x-rays will be taken as well as intra-oral photographs to provide a complete picture of your oral health. Dr. Frey may also take a dental impression to use for a smile analysis, or to assist in developing a treatment plan.
Dr. Frey will review his findings with you following the exam and discuss treatment options. On occasion some treatment can begin that same day, however complex cosmetic or reconstructive cases, or patients with involved medical histories, may require a follow up consultation.
Along with your smile, please bring the following at the time of your first visit:
- Medical and dental history forms, as well as patient information form that we provide you in advance (You can also download this form on our website)
- A list of medications you're taking.
- Medical or dental insurance forms, if applicable. This is necessary for us to help you process claims.
